Not all GCash accounts are the same. GCash offers different account types to meet the needs of its diverse user base. Understanding the differences helps you choose the right account and unlock the features most relevant to your situation.
Basic GCash Account
When you first sign up for GCash, you start with a Basic Profile. This account type is available to all users 18 years old and above with a registered Philippine SIM card. Basic accounts allow you to send and receive money, buy load, scan QR codes, and pay bills, but with lower wallet and transaction limits compared to Fully Verified accounts.
Fully Verified GCash Account
By submitting a valid government ID and completing facial verification, you can upgrade your account to Fully Verified status. This unlocks higher wallet limits (up to ₱100,000), access to premium financial services including GCredit, GSave, GInvest, GLoan, and the GCash Visa Card, as well as the ability to perform larger transactions and international payments.
GCash Jr
Designed for young Filipinos and foreign nationals aged 7 to 17 years old with a Philippine SIM, GCash Jr allows minors to have their own supervised digital wallet. It comes with age-appropriate features and limits, and requires parental or guardian consent during registration.
GCash Overseas
Created for Filipinos living and working abroad, GCash Overseas allows registration using an international SIM card from countries where the service is available. It enables OFWs and Filipino expatriates to send money to the Philippines, pay bills, and use GCash services without a Philippine SIM.
GCash for Business
GCash also offers solutions for sellers and merchants through GCash for Business. Businesses can accept QR payments, manage transactions, and access business-specific tools through the GCash merchant platform. Over 2.5 million sellers and merchants are part of the GCash ecosystem as of 2025.
